The Market at Quivira: Celebrating a Decade of Dining Options
Opened in 2016, The Market at Quivira, an acclaimed food emporium at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, has aged like fine wine.
Inspired by gastronomic food halls in major U.S. and European cities, including Harrods in London and the Eataly in New York City, The Market features an enticing array of eateries, a handsome central bar and ample communal seating.
Originally intended to be a resort supermarket, the 15,000-meter space, accented by brick arches and custom lighting, was reimagined as an open-floor culinary space to provide a greater range of dining options for resort guests.
Food halls, especially ones executed as perfectly as The Market, are ideal for multi-generational and family vacations.
For example, kid-friendly cuisine at The Market starts at the red-and-chrome 1950s Diner, which serves hot dogs, hamburgers and milkshakes along with the sounds of vintage rock ‘n roll. Los Helados offers scoops of homemade ice cream with an array of toppings, while Las Crepas turns out the best crepes (sweet or savory) in Cabo.
The Market is also home to other culinary outposts favored by guests of all ages, including:
El Asiatico (sushi, dumplings, Sichuan-style shrimp, Asian street food)
El Café – (cappuccino, café con leche, espresso, frappes, fresh-baked muffins)
El Deli (New York-style deli serving delectable sandwiches served hot, cold or toasted)
El Italiano (brick-oven pizzas, homemade pastas, traditional lasagna, Italian desserts)
El Mexicano (tacos, enchiladas, traditional sopas (soups) and other Mexican specialties)
Since its debut, The Market has continued to evolve to meet the expectations of modern travelers.
In 2018, The After at Quivira, an urban-themed sports bar built to cater to avid sports fans, made its debut at The Market. More than 10 oversize flat-screen TVs are tuned to NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA games as well as international soccer matches, PGA TOUR events and college games, depending on the season.
The After’s stylish interior is accented by brass chandeliers, illuminated globes, Italian ceramic flooring, and backlit glass bottles behind the bar. A large wraparound terrace offers beautiful ocean views.
The well-stocked bar carries more than 100 labels of distilled spirits as well as artisanal beers on draft. Specialty cocktails feature creative takes on classics ranging from Mojitos and Mai Tais to specialty margaritas.
On the menu, sports fans will find classic American bar fare and comfort food with a Mexican twist, including three types of nachos, a trilogy of burger sliders, and sandwiches (brisket to beer-battered fish) served on bagels or homemade bread.
Switching gears, a wellness bar called Perfect Balance opened at The Market in 2019, signaling a holistic approach to health and nourishment. This popular outlet uses the finest organic ingredients to offer guests delicious and nutritious cold-pressed juices, wellness shots, smoothies, salads, healthy snacks, vegan dishes, and more. Curious diners can find out for themselves just how tasty superfoods like acai, chia, bee pollen, spirulina, and maca can be.
Nearly all the food and beverage offerings at The Market are included for guests on the Pueblo Bonito’s all-inclusive plan. Only premium cocktails at El Bar and top-quality truffles, chocolates and macarons at El Chocolate, a deluxe sweets boutique, are not included.
Even the fussiest foodie will find something to like at The Market.
