Super Bowl Celebrations at Pueblo Bonito Resorts & Quivira Los Cabos
The Super Bowl is more than a football game. It’s a winter ritual and a social occasion, a chance for friends and family to gather to watch the game, laugh at the ads, and enjoy the halftime show. Wherever you are, you’ll find “American football” fans in abundance this Sunday, February 13. For them, Super Bowl Sunday is as close to an annual holiday as it gets.
While the FIFA World Cup is the most-watched sports event in the world (followed by the Olympics), the Super Bowl runs a close third. Last year, 96.4 million people watched the Super Bowl in the U.S., with another 30 to 50 million international viewers. And in Mexico, according to Statista.com, more than 12 million people watched the 2020 Super Bowl — about 10% of the total population!
Pueblo Bonito Resorts and Quivira Los Cabos are more than prepared for Super Bowl LVI, which will pit the Los Angeles Rams against the Cincinnati Bengals. This Sunday, resort guests and community residents will have a choice of four different Super Bowl venues, each with its own theme. Best of all, no reservations are needed. If your homemade guacamole isn’t up to snuff, if your Buffalo wings aren’t spicy enough, if your Margaritas aren’t hitting the spot, consider these great options.
1. Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, Peninsula Bar, American Buffet.
As venues go, this one’s tough to beat, especially at sunset. Peninsula Bar, an extension of The Towers at Pacifica, is a spectacular open-air bar and lounge oriented to the beach and sea. All the ingredients for a great party will be here: a live DJ, plus plenty of Super Bowl snacks, sliders, hot dogs, wings, fries, chips, guacamole and more. And beer and cocktails, of course. Hours: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Regular price for adults: $45 USD.
Event is complimentary for adults on all-inclusive plan.
2. The After at Quivira, Special Menu
A gastronomic food hall and a “foodie” destination unlike any other in Los Cabos, The Market at Quivira has been a hit since Day 1. Its crown jewel is The After, a modern sports bar with nearly a dozen oversize flat-screen TV’s
complemented by American bistro fare with a Mexican twist. In addition to a live DJ, The After will offer feature a special a la carte menu as well as beer and cocktails. If you like your Super Bowl watching experience lively and raucous, if you’re a big fan of either the Rams or Bengals (or have a few pesos on the outcome), The After is the place for you. Need a breather? Take a break on The After’s spacious, airy ocean-view terrace.
Hours: 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
3. Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, La Nao, Manila Bar and Santana Salon, BBQ Buffet
Situated in a lovely glass and marble pavilion, La Nao offers serene ocean views and indoor or shaded terrace seating. The sunset views are spectacular from any table at La Nao. If you can take your eyes off the game for a moment, you’ll likely see humpback whales breaching and spouting offshore. BBQ is a classic culinary mainstay of Super Bowl gatherings, and La Nao’s buffet will be complete. This family-friendly experience offers two different price points.
Hours: 3:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Regular price:
Adults $48, USD, Kids $18 USD (includes one beer or one soft drink)
Special price with all-inclusive plan:
Adults $18 USD, Kids $8 USD (open bar included)
4. La Choya, Amakiri Botanical Garden, Super Bowl Watch Party
And now for something completely different. Amakiri, a recently revitalized botanical garden situated between Sunset Beach and Pacifica, will host a festive, family-friendly event in the desert to include a special menu (snacks and sliders), TV screens, games (to liven up the party), and beers. The main attraction will be La Choya Wandering Kitchen, a charming food truck staffed with first-class chefs. Lighted at night, Amakiri Botanical Garden is very beautiful and the best place for an outdoor experience.
Hours: 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
