Quivira Golf Club to Host Charity Pro-Am

The Esteban Toledo Family Foundation Charity Pro-Am, benefitting the ETF Home for Children in Mexicali, Mexico, will be held at Pueblo Bonito Resorts and Quivira Golf Club from Dec. 6 – 8.

Toledo, a Mexicali native and former PGA Tour player who now competes on the PGA TOUR Champions, is known for his philanthropic work. He heads an eponymous foundation that offers food, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities to impoverished children in Mexicali.

According to Toledo, proceeds from the Charity Pro-Am will help to build a 3,600-square-foot facility for 30 orphans and foster children in Mexicali. “This home will provide a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment for the children,” he said. “The facility is owned by our foundation and operated in partnership with the D.I.F. (Mexico's governmental agency committed to protect vulnerable children).”

The Charity Pro-Am’s two-night, three-day amateur player packages include one tournament round at Quivira Golf Club, deluxe accommodations at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort, food and refreshments at the on-course comfort stations, all-inclusive food and drinks at the hotel, plus roundtrip airport, resort and golf transfers.

The inaugural event also features a welcome cocktail and dinner with Esteban Toledo and PGA Champions Tour players, Saturday breakfast and golf clinic with Toledo, farewell cocktail and award dinner with Toledo and his fellow professionals, and tournament gifts and prizes. Non-golfers will receive a spa credit and a guest gift. Package prices start at $2,800 per person, double occupancy.

Quivira Golf Club, which will celebrate its fifth anniversary on Dec. 4, is an epic Jack Nicklaus Signature design that scales the heights at Land’s End. Marked by huge windswept dunes, sheer granite cliffs and rolling desert foothills, this breathtaking layout offers more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos. While a test for the best from the tips at 7,085 yards, forward tees give everyone a chance on a risk-reward course renowned for its unforgettable views and memorable challenges. Quivira has been voted to Golf Digest’s elite list of the “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.”

For the event’s organizer, the venue for the Charity Pro-Am was a foregone conclusion. “As a touring professional, I’ve been privileged to play all the top courses throughout North America,” Toledo said. “For beauty, challenge and variety, the golf courses in Los Cabos, especially the spectacular layout at Quivira, are in a class of their own.”
