How to Stay Active at Quivira

Vacation behavior has changed. While there’s something wonderful and relaxing about laying on the beach or lounging poolside for an entire day, most modern travelers prefer to stay active.

That’s especially true in Los Cabos, a look-good, feel-good kind of place. Situated at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, this sun-drenched destination, known for its exotic desert-meets-ocean setting, is a serendipitous locale that’s perfect for a wide range of outdoor activities.

Thanks to the amenities and experiences offered by Q Life, a club created for residents and guests of Quivira Los Cabos, there are myriad ways to be active, fit and healthy during a visit to Land’s End.

Yoga. The centuries-old practice of yoga enables practitioners to balance body, mind, and spirit through the regular practice of asanas (body postures) combined with breathing techniques and guided meditation. There’s no better way to relax, reflect, and gravitate to healthy pathways than practicing yoga a few times per week. Depending on the season and class size, indoor and outdoor yoga sessions are available.

Nature trails. Quivira’s nature trails, ideal for walking, hiking, jogging or mountain biking, are second to none. With the goal of bringing the resort community closer to nature, the extensive network of trails encourages healthy communal outings. Whether strolling, biking or running, the trails enable members at all physical ability levels to flow with the natural sounds and scents of Baja California Sur—and marvel at the magnificent desert scenery, from rounded granite boulders to tall cardon cacti. Guided tours are also available to help you get the most out of the experience. You can check schedules and reservations with your concierge.

Fitness centers. Anyone who has read “Younger Next Year: A Guide to Living Like 50 Until You’re 80 and Beyond,” knows that regular aerobic exercise and weight training are the key ingredients of fitness. In addition to the state-of-the-art gym at the Copala clubhouse, available exclusively for residents and guests, each of the Pueblo Bonito Resort properties offer full-service fitness studios for hotel guests.

Note: There are Q Life activities specifically developed for Quivira residents, such as cocktail parties, art exhibitions, whale watching tours, as well as programs (such as guided hikes and mountain bike adventures) that are open to resort guests on a space-available basis. Welcoming resort guests enables Q Life to comply with the required minimums for many of its activities, a classic win-win scenario. Information can be obtained by referencing the activities schedule on the Copala, Coronado and Montecristo Facebook group pages; by emailing qlifereservations@quiviraloscabos.com and requesting an activities schedule; or by calling (624) 142-9999, Ext. 3549.
