Five Not-to-Miss Activities at Quivira

Five Not-to-Miss Activities at Quivira

Commanding a glorious stretch of beach at true Land’s End, the place where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, Quivira Los Cabos offers the perfect environment for adventure, discovery and relaxation. Here’s our curated list of five not-to-miss activities within this splendid, self-contained resort community.

1. Enjoy Quivira´s Nature Trails

Whether walking, running or mountain biking, Quivira’s network of trails enables members of all physical abilities to flow with the Baja’s natural sounds and scents—and enjoy the unique mountain-desert-ocean environment. The benefits of connecting with nature equate to peace of mind, physical well-being and pure enjoyment.

Q Life currently offers mountain biking tours two days per week. It’s a fantastic way to experience the region’s topsy-turvy terrain. Another day is dedicated to guided walks along nature trails; or treks to the old lighthouse, a.k.a. Faro Viejo, which clings to the cliff high above the sea and dates to 1905, making it the oldest standing structure in Cabo San Lucas.

2. Visit the Social Assistance Center

The Letty Coppel Foundation has opened a social assistance center to provide free support to children, the elderly, women, and entire families in need of the basic essentials of life. Specific programs include entrepreneurial opportunities in jewelry-making, embroidery and dress-making; dancing and exercise classes for seniors; a homework club for children struggling in school; and workshops for women. The center also offers psychological counseling, physical therapy and personalized coaching on how to lead a healthy life. Visit and discover the many meaningful projects carried out by the Letty Coppel Foundation to help uplift underprivileged families throughout Los Cabos.

3. Attend a Cooking Class

Held at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf Resort & Spa, the Cooking Class is part of the Q Life activities and invites a maximum of 10 guests to an open-air kitchen in the resort’s organic orchard. Together with the executive chef, guests are encouraged to select and prepare vegetables and herbs for each selected dish. The chef then teaches guests how to prepare authentic Baja cuisine, with tips on how to recreate favorite recipes at home. Dishes range from Chicken Flautas and Shrimp Ceviche to Tacos al Pastor (shepherd-style Mexican grilled pork tacos). Once completed, a gourmet lunch (prepared during the class!) is paired with well-chosen Mexican wines and served at a communal table set beneath market umbrellas in the orchard. It’s an enchanting way to spend an afternoon—and a great way to make new friends who share a common interest.

4. Visit Ivan Guaderrama´s Art Gallery

Stimulate the mind and inspire your creative side with a visit to the Q Life Interactive Art Gallery, located at The Market at Quivira, the popular food hall located at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort. Ivan Guaderrama's distinctive exhibition brings a whole new definition to mixed-medium, weaving together technology and art to create a fascinating and magical experience. The gallery’s interactive art installations use software and hardware to produce sounds when touched. These eclectic works (paintings of hearts, sculptures of angels, etc.) come alive with the use of an application developed by Guaderrama for IOS and Android technologies.

5. Experience a Sunset Teepee Dinner

Surprise your partner! Book a special Teepee Dinner Experience with the Pacifica staff. On a broad stretch of sandy beach in front of the resort, a specially-made tepee constructed from bamboo, natural greenery and flowers awaits each couple’s arrival. (The tepee is a recreation of an indigenous shelter used by native American Indian tribes). Sunset is heralded by the ancestral

sounds of a conch shell blown like a horn by a staff member. Following the ritual, a special four-course meal is prepared tepee-side by a resort chef using locally sourced Baja products and ingredients. Each course is paired with an organic, artisanal craft cocktail prepared by a master mixologist. A meal to savor and a night under the stars to remember.
