Sunset Tepee Experience

Sunset Tepee Experience

One of the most talked-about new offerings for guests at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is the Sunset Tepee Experience. Why is it so special?

For starters, there’s the location: a broad stretch of sandy beach in front of Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort. Awaiting participants is a specially-made tepee constructed from bamboo, natural greenery and flowers. The tepee is a recreation of an indigenous tent used by native American Indian tribes. In centuries past, these shelters were typically made from animal skins laid on a conical frame of long poles. Pueblo Bonito has adapted the concept as a way to allow guests to fully (and safely) appreciate Cabo’s natural phenomena, including the mesmeric sound of the thundering surf and, when darkness falls, the pitch-black night sky for stargazing.

The experience starts in time to take in a spellbinding Cabo sunset heralded by the ancestral sounds of a conch shell blown like a horn by a staff member. A brief written explanation of this custom is included.

Following the ritual, couples can savor a special four-course meal prepared tepee side by a resort chef using locally sourced Baja products and ingredients.

A typical four-course menu for the Sunset Tepee Experience might include a starter of to Peasant Tomato Soup prepared with wood-roasted tomatoes, oregano bread loaf shavings, diced fresh mozzarella cheese, and a curry oil infusion. For an appetizer, Burrata Salad of local cherry tomatoes marinated in pine nut oil, grass asparagus, beets, arugula, and a basil oil infusion. The entrée? A roasted pistachio Crusted Beef Fillet with baked sweet potato paprika, asparagus with bacon, and a coffee sauce flavored with red wine. For dessert, Chocolate Mousse stuffed with hazelnut mouse, mango confit and Bailey’s sauce.

Each course is paired with an organic, artisanal craft cocktail prepared by a master mixologist sweetened where appropriate with natural honey and/or agave. Finally, this exceptional dinner-on-the-beach experience includes curated DJ music and a photographer to memorialize the evening.

The Sunset Tepee Experience starts at 7:00 p.m. and lasts approximately 2 ½ hours. It is priced at 6,000 MXN and accommodates two people (couple), with a limit of three couples (and three tepees). Guests must book at least 24 hours in advance.
