Top Instagrammable Spots in Quivira Los Cabos

In nine short years, Instagram, the photo and video-sharing social networking service, has become the easiest way to capture and share special moments. This is especially true of travel moments, those vacation experiences you can’t wait to share with friends and family back home.
Here’s our pick of the most visually appealing (and intriguing) locations within the luxury resort community of Quivira Los Cabos.

The beach.  The glorious stretch of pristine beach in front of the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and Sunset Beach resort hotels is perfect for early morning and late afternoon selfies. The thundering surf provides a dramatic backdrop. Scan the horizon during the winter months for breaching whales--many of them cruise quite close to shore.

Sky Pool. The best sunsets in Cabo? Look no further than the top-of-the-world Sky Pool at Sunset Beach, which crowns a cliff high above the beach and sea. The two-tiered infinity pool has a view to die for, but this elevated perch is at its best when the flaming sun sinks into the sea at day’s end. An Instagram for the ages.

The Market at Quivira. A bustling food hall attached to Sunset Beach, The Market offers an enticing array of themed eateries and a large central bar within a spacious brick-arched complex. This gastronomic hotspot is loaded with eye-candy. And, at El Chocolate, the finest and most colorful organic chocolate creations in Mexico. The After at Quivira, The Market’s stylish new sports bar with an ocean-view terrace, is beautifully lit at night.

Siempre. Arguably the finest meal at Pacifica’s main restaurant is the fabled Sunday Champagne Brunch (7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), which offers a lavish buffet highlighted by a sushi bar, American and Mexican brunch specialties (from French toast to chilaquiles), and a dessert table arrayed with fresh baked goods that will satisfy any sweet tooth.  Don’t miss the clay urns, one filled with Mexican hot chocolate, the other with spiced Mexican coffee.

Quivira Golf Club. Grafted onto a jaw-dropping site marked by huge windswept dunes, sheer granite cliffs and rolling desert foothills, this spectacular Jack Nicklaus-designed course has more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Cabo. Scenic highlights:

  • • The drive to the fifth hole, which traces a switchback route up the side of a mountain and climbs to a vertigo-inducing perch 275 feet above the frothing surf. The “Cliffs” comfort station behind the tee is the perfect place to capture an “Ole!” moment.
  • Faro Viejo, the historic, castle-like lighthouse circa 1905 located near the seventh tee, is the oldest standing structure in Cabo San Lucas. It commands the point at true Land’s End, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean.
  • • The 13th hole, a petite par 3, plays over a yawning abyss to a midget green set atop a pinnacle of fissured granite rising 100 feet from the pounding surf. Simply breathtaking—and the most exciting wedge shot in golf.
