The Best Views in Quivira

A room with a view? They are plentiful throughout the various hospitality entities within Quivira Los Cabos. In a few cases, serendipitous geography yields panoramic ocean views from rocky mounts that are simply breathtaking. But there are also a couple of venues set just about beach level that are just as inspiring.

Here’s a round-up of the best vantage points for scenic views situated within the splendid resort and residential community of Quivira Los Cabos.

1. Cliffs Comfort Station. The payoff for players at Quivira Golf Club who drive the switchback cart path up the side of a mountain to the fifth hole is the Cliffs Comfort Station, which was recently filmed by a Discovery TV / Golf Digest crew for a feature on the world’s most spectacular halfway houses and comfort stations. Perched 275 feet above the endless beach and its breaking waves, this breathtaking station offers top-of-the-world views of the horizon-flooding sea. From mid-December through March, the Cliffs is a great place to see humpback whales spouting and breaching close to shore. Golfers can pause to enjoy breakfast burritos or chimichangas, a full bar (with daily drink specials)—and unquestionably. the finest view from a golf course in all of Cabo.

2. The After at Quivira. Rare is the sports bar with a view of anything other than an oversize flat-screen TV tuned to a sporting event. But The After, a stylish, urban-themed sports bar, which debuted in 2018, is different. Directly outside the well-appointed interior, accented by large round brass chandeliers, backlit glass bottles, illuminated globes, and Italian ceramic flooring, is a spacious wraparound terrace with a superlative view of the sea. There are large flat-screen TV’s fastened to the exterior walls of The After where sports fans can watch the games, but most folks who repair to the terrace tend to settle into a comfy sofa angled to the deep blue sea.

3. Quivira Steakhouse. For a magical evening under the stars, the thatched-roof clubhouse at Quivira Golf Club, set between the 18th green and the practice facility, is in a class of its own. Roughly the height of a palm tree,

the clubhouse sits directly above the sandy shore a short distance from (and within earshot of) the thundering surf. Far removed from the resorts, the dining room lights are soft and the night sky is pitch black, which accentuates the twinkle of the stars and planets. In addition to prime steaks with wines to match, the menu features excellent appetizers, including crab cakes, calamari, beef tartare, tuna sashimi and many more.

4. Peninsula. Both the bar and restaurant at Peninsula, the newest dining outlet at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, have expansive views of the beach, sky and sea. The gourmet restaurant, a sophisticated, low-lit room featuring authentic regional Baja cuisine, has been acclaimed as one of Cabo’s most romantic dinner settings. The open-air bar and lounge, with its casual seating and fire pits, is the perfect place to relax and stargaze after the meal. Toes in the sand? Simply kick off your shoes and walk a few steps to the beach.

5. Sky Pool. For a dazzling Cabo sunset, one where rose pink, rusty orange, and deep purple sunrays illuminate the darkening sky, the place to go is the Sky Pool at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. Perched at the pinnacle of the sprawling resort’s terraced buildings, the Sky Pool, a two-tiered infinity pool that crowns a bluff above the beach, sits roughly 250 feet above sea level. It’s a perfect observation point for a postcard Cabo sunset, a place to watch the flaming sun get swallowed by the sea at day’s end. From the Sky Pool’s epic perch, Cabo’s legendary sunsets seem to linger a little longer.
