3 Ways to Cool Off in Summer

3 Ways to Cool Off in Summer

There’s no getting around it. Cabo heats up in the summer. By August, locals and visitors alike are looking for creative ways to cool off.

Here’s are our favorite three ways to cope with rising temperatures this month.

1.- Enjoy an ice cream or gelato at The Market at Quivira
There’s no better source of instant refreshment than an ice-cold treat. Los Helados, a favorite stop at The Market for kids of all ages, serves fresh ice cream and a tantalizing array of Italian-style gelato in a myriad array of flavors. The popular food stall, where the servers wear classic straw boaters, also has all the toppings for patrons to customize their frozen creations. And how about the tagline for Los Helados: “Without ice cream, there would be darkness and chaos.”

2.- Grab a cold one at Baja Brewing Company
The original craft beer of Los Cabos, Baja Brewing Company embraces an age-old tradition with regional flair. Founded in 2007 in San Jose del Cabo by a Colorado brewmaster, the company, which has a donkey as its official brand mascot, now features eight quality draft beers distributed to a dozen local restaurants. The brewery’s recipe for success? “Premium barley, crystal clear purified water, hand selected hops and the finest brewers' yeast.” Bottled products, notably the award-winning Blonde Ale, are sold throughout Cabo, but there’s no substitute for sipping the suds at the one of three cantinas operated by the brewery. For a frosty brew and some of the best views in Cabo San Lucas, the rooftop cantina at Cabo Villas Beach Resort is a must.

3.- Pool bar at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort
Talk about a double dose of refreshment. The large pool at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, set below the adults-only, all-inclusive hotel a stone’s throw from the beach, is a magnet for guests all summer long. Bathers and back-strokers have plenty of room to enjoy the water, but by mid-afternoon on a typically warm, sunny day, guests gravitate to the pool’s ample swim-up bar for ice-cold refreshments. The top choices when the mercury begins to rise? Frosty beer in a can (Pacifico with a lime is a classic), hand-shaken margaritas or a wide range of cocktails created by the expert bartenders. Salud!
