Ernesto Coppel – Owner, CEO
Ernesto Coppel is the driving force behind the creation of Quivira. Recognized as the leading independent hotelier in Mexico, Coppel has an outstanding record of achievement. Since the opening of his first hotel in 1987 he has become a major force in the leisure resort industry worldwide and his resorts have been recognized as among the favorites throughout the world.
As president of Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts & Spas, Coppel has developed seven luxury resorts, each with its own distinctive architecture and décor, embellished with the taste and quality that are his trademark. He has received innumerable awards, both personally and for his resorts. Named successively Mexico’s Entrepreneur of the Year and Businessman of the Year, Coppel is known for his extensive contributions to the communities in which his projects are located and sustains an increasingly high profile in government and civic affairs. The resorts themselves have won many awards, for beauty and preservation of the environment, dining excellence and for overall pleasure and satisfaction of guests. Coppel brings his guiding principles of excellence, quality and service to the development of Quivira, which he considers his most exciting project to date.
Roberto Gúzman – President of Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts & Spas
Roberto Guzman has been a key figure in the development and management of Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts & Spas since the inception of the company. He assumed the presidency in 2007 when Ernesto Coppel became the chairman of the board. Guzman directed the financial affairs of the company as chief financial officer, advisor and right-hand man from the concept of the first hotel in 1987 through the creation of multiple additional resorts as Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts & Spas grew to a multi-billion dollar company. He has an essential role in the creation of Quivira.
A graduate of the prestigious Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Guzman has an extensive background in finance and computer science and is completely bilingual in English and Spanish. He is known for his executive abilities, his effective management techniques, and his in-depth experience in the luxury leisure resort industry.
José Luis Mogollón – Project Director
Project Director José Luis Mogollón is head of the overall operation of Quivira Los Cabos and plays an important role in forging relationships with the key business partners that lend their prestige to the community. Prior to assuming management of Quivira, he served as General Manager of Fonovisa Inc, a division of Univision Communications Inc and the largest Latin record label in the US. As special projects director for Televisa (Mexico’s largest media company), he had an outstanding record of managing complex multi-million dollar projects involving multiple disciplines with people from different countries and backgrounds. Prior to Televisa, Mogollón was the General Manager/Owner of Castegamo SA de CV, a regional restaurant chain in Northwest Mexico.
Mogollón has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Stanford University and an engineering degree from the prestigious Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores in Monterrey, Mexico (ITESM), where he graduated first in his class. ITESM is known as the MIT of Mexico. A Mexican national with diverse, high level professional experience, an international education and extensive residency in the US, Mogollón is both bicultural and bilingual and has first-hand knowledge of the requirements to bridge potential gaps between US - Mexican operational preferences; and harbors the extensive management experience to ensure that the many elements required to piece together a development of the magnitude of Quivira fit into place.
George H. Amos, III – Project Coordinator, Director of Sales and Marketing
George H. Amos III, known by his friends as “Hank,” is helping to oversee many different aspects of the project and serves as the Project Coordinator and Director of Sales and Marketing. Amos also is chairman and CEO of Tucson Realty & Trust Co. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona with 27 years of real estate experience including over ten years of experience in international real estate. Amos has been listed in "Who's Who Among U.S. Executives," "Who's Who in the West," "Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate” and "Who's Who in America." Amos served as a Regent on the Arizona Board of Regents from 1994 until 2002 and is currently Chairman Elect for the Arizona Chapter of Young President’s Organization, a global leadership network comprising more than 20,000 leaders in over 100 countries.
Johni Orr – Director of Sales, Quivira Realty
Johni brings over 20 years of real estate experience to the Quivira, Los Cabos Realty team. Orr has been selling and consulting for real estate projects in Baja California Sur, Mexico, for more than ten years. She has been part of several highly successful teams that have sold award-winning, exclusive properties in the Los Cabos and Loreto areas, including Pallmilla, Villas Del Mar, Villa La Estancia Resort, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, Rosewood, Loreto Bay, and her previous assignment with El Dorado Golf and Beach Club. She has a long standing track record of assisting satisfied home buyers with their Mexican home purchases.
